There are plenty of soaks out there for thrush, abcesses and general hoof care, many do a pretty good job. But if you know a bit about us here at Intelligent Horsecare you'll know that pretty good just isn't good enough. We don't just want animal safe, we want to know that what we choose to use on our horses has the weight of science behind it and has been tested as safe to use on us humans first.

CleanTrax is a deep penetrating hoof cleanser proven effective in eliminating even the toughest infections, in most case with just a single application but it's more than just an animal treatment, CleanTrax was developed by a leading U.S. chemical company using the same unique chemcial formula as they use on (and in) human patients. While it is used to treat deep-seated fungal infections in humans what most people don't realise is that it's primary use is to irrigate surgeries and open wounds to eliminate the risk of secondary infections in humans. How many hoof soaks can you say that about?

CleanTrax contains a proprietary hypochlorous compound which is non-necrotizing and has no adverse effects on normal, healthy cells. The key to CleanTrax's effectiveness lies in a unique stabilizing process, making it extremely surface active and allowing it to penetrate quickly and deeply to the root of the infection. CleanTrax's cleansing action purges bacteria, fungi, and spores from the deepest hoof layers and crevices and also removes dead, powdery, soft remnants of tissue destroyed by fungal activity. As the cleanser penetrates, a vapor is released, instantly eliminating the bacteria, fungi and spores, actually ridding the horse of the hoof infection.

One bottle of cleantrax must be mixed with 3.8 litres of water.

CleanTrax solution is "active" for a full 90 minutes, you can safely reuse the solution during its active time i.e. you can use the same solution to soak two hooves consecutively on a 45 minute soak.

How to Use CleanTrax, General Use:

1. Clean the hoof, remove and wash away excess dirt and debris. If shod remove the shoes and, if appropriate, prepare the hoof for shoeing.
2. Mix the entire contents of one bottle (25g) of CleanTrax into one US gallon (3.8 litres) of cool or lukewarm i.e. room temperature water.
3. Pour all the CleanTrax solution into a CleanTrax hoof boot, a reinforced plastic bag, or a tall medicating boot.
4. Immerse the hoof completely into the CleanTrax solution (If a bag is used, pull the top of the bag up above the knee and tie or tape it closed) and allow the hoof to soak for the desired period.
5. After soaking, DO NOT RINSE OR DRY THE HOOF; cover the hoof with an empty plastic bag and seal the top, alternatively put the hoof into a non-draining hoof boot and allow the vapors to penetrate for a futher 30-60 minutes.
6. Once the CleanTrax vapor has been allowed to penetrate you can then apply HoofStuff, ArtiMud or Field Past to any cracks or creaves to help keep the area clean.

When you are finished soaking, we strongly recommend you use the solution to sterilise hoof picks, hoof brushes and hoof boots to help reduce and limit the risk of spreading or reintroducing the infection. The reminder of the solution can be poured or sprayed onto the stall floor, trailer mats or trimming area to eliminate fungal spores.

Soaking Times:

• To protect the horse's feet and keep them free of infection, CleanTrax can be used preventatively soaking each hoof for 20 minutes every 3 to 4 months.
• For deeper infections soak a hoof for 45 minutes (you will be able to deep soak two hooves in the 90 minutes the solution is active)
• For recurring infections soak the infected hoof for 60 minutes then use the solution to sterilise hoof picks, hoof boots and area the horse stands for extended periods.
• For ongoing deep or bad recurring infections repeat the soaking every two to four weeks until signs of improvement.

The Health & Safety Stuff:

CleanTrax is available in single-use 25g bottles. DO NOT open the bottle until you are ready to use it.
Store the bottle in a refrigerator or a cool, dry place. DO NOT leave it in the sun or expose to heat.
CleanTrax is completely safe when used as directed. The powder and solution are for external use only. Keep away from small children and pets. The solution will damage colored fabrics.
The CleanTrax Hoof Boot is made of heavy duty vinyl and is reusable.
Never leave a horse unsupervised while soaking.
