Field Paste is a brilliant antimicrobial anti-thrush paste for horses which are mainly field kept or that have to be turned out on wet or muddy pasture. It has a thick dough-like consistency which offers great 'staying power'. It remains in contact with the affected areas longer than other thrush treatments and is designed to remain in the collateral grooves, central sulcus and on the sole for the longest possible of time enabling it to have continued effect against microbes. Another great benefit is that this staying power helps prevent mud, faeces and other contaminants coming in contact with the hoof.
Too thick to be painted on, Field Paste should be applied with a gloved hand.
For horses living out apply a thick layer working into all cravesse and grooves. Repeat once the smell of the essential oils subsides or there is no sign of the paste still on the feet. Once problems subside apply weekly as a preventative in muddy conditions or longer in dry conditions.
If your horse is stabled apply a thin layer when indoors to prevent bedding adhering to hooves alternatively use Sole Paint indoors. Applying field paste once a week prior to turnout for an all day deep treatment particularly in wet conditions to be keep mud and muck out the hoof.
Replace once the smell of the essential oils subsides or there is no sign of the paste still on the feet. Once problems subside apply weekly as a preventative in muddy conditions or longer in dry conditions.
