Single line lunging and inhand work are essential tools in the development and conditioning of horses. While the LG Bridle is great for riding single and double reins, double lunge and long reining just as with any bridle bitted or bitless working off the single lunge can be a challenge as there is always the risk of both the horse and bridle been pulled out of balance.
While there are many good lunging cavessons out there, there are also many poorly balanced options, either too heavy, too sharp or with the three rings of the nosepiece too close together across the bridge of the nose preventing sufficient direct lateral signal to help the horse learn to bend correctly. For those wanting to avoid metal nosepieces or using semi-cavesson nosepieces on bitted bridles for groundwork often find that nosepiece has a habit of walking round the face no matter which ring you use risking confused signals and rubbing.
Whether working off a metal nosepiece piece or leather it's important to remember that, particularly with young, stiff or uneducated horses, if you work simply off a fixed centre ring or insufficiently spaced side rings you will can negatively impact your horse's training by unintentionally creating vertical tilt as opposed to lateral bend. Lunging off a centre, badly spaced side rings or bit tilts the vertical axis of the head bringing the nose inwards towards the hand and twisting the poll outwards rather than to encouraging the neck to soften and stretch on the outside into the bend. It is for this reason that many trainers often opt to lunge horse in a stable headcollar using the side rings rather than a centre ringed cavesson.
The LG lunging convertor was developed to safely convert both the LG Bridle as well as bitted bridles (and a bit - if used - is not pulled through the sensitive mouth) into a single line lunging and inhand cavesson, small enough to slip into your pocket its always to hand allowing you to adapt your training session to your horse and your mood without having to untack and reach for a three ring lunging cavesson or head collar, simply clip converter in place attach the lunge line and you're ready to work, then unclip when you're done and you can return to ridden or long reining work in seconds.
Unlike conventional rigid lunging adaptors the lg lunging converter offers greater clarity of lateral signal whether on the single lunge or inhand as the ring can slide freely focusing the point of contact precisely where you want it while still allowing supportive contact on the outside rein then instantly offer release as the hand gives. Additionally the free sliding ring means you can change reins on the lunge or refocus your point of contact inhand in a single fluid movement rather than having to stop unclip the lunge rein and reattach to the new working side (Remember changing rein often improves flexibility and helps keep your horse focused on what you're asking of him).
